Apple Inc.'s mobile payments service Apple Pay is now available in Germany, four years after its launch in the U.S.
Customers of banks such as Deutsche Bank AG, Commerzbank AG unit comdirect bank AG, Hypovereinsbank, Wirecard AG, Hanseatic Bank GmbH & Co KG, and credit card providers Mastercard Inc., Visa Inc. and American Express Co. can now access Apple Pay.
Customers can use the Apple Pay app at retailers such as Aldi and Lidl; supermarket chain Kaufland; drugstores Rossmann and DM; department store chain Kaufhof; clothing retailers H&M, Esprit, C&A and Zara; and consumer electronics chain MediaMarkt, according to a Dec. 11 Reuters report.
Apple Pay, which launched in the U.S. in 2014, is also available in other European countries, including France, Finland, Poland, Norway and Switzerland.
