Facebook enforces ad transparency policy in Singapore

Facebook Inc. will begin enforcing its advertisement transparency policies in Singapore to "hold advertisers accountable for the ads they run on Facebook and Instagram LLC."

Individuals in Singapore who are looking to publish advertisements about elections and politics on Facebook will be required to confirm their identity and location, and to disclose the person or organization behind the ad. The policies will also cover advertisements on social issues, such as civil and social rights, immigration, crime, political values and governance.

Advertisements and disclaimer information will be stored in Facebook's Ad Library for seven years and can be accessed by the public.

Facebook implemented similar policies in other countries, such as Nigeria, Ukraine and Indonesia.
