Unicafe Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to ¥5.92 per share, a gain of 42.4% from ¥4.15 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥81.9 million, an increase of 42.4% from ¥57.5 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 3.5% from 2.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined 16.8% on an annual basis to ¥2.35 billion from ¥2.83 billion, and total operating expenses declined 18.7% from the prior-year period to ¥2.23 billion from ¥2.74 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥197.0 million, or a loss of ¥14.23 per share, compared to income of ¥135.0 million, or ¥9.75 per share, in the year-earlier period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥30.30 per share, a decrease of 16.4% from ¥36.26 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥419.4 million, a decrease of 16.4% from ¥501.9 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue fell 13.2% from the prior-year period to ¥10.19 billion from ¥11.73 billion, and total operating expenses decreased 13.3% year over year to ¥9.53 billion from ¥10.99 billion.
The company said reported net income declined 49.6% on an annual basis to ¥346.0 million, or ¥25.00 per share, in the full year, from ¥686.0 million, or ¥49.56 per share.
