Tongling Nonferrous Metals Group Co. Ltd.'s net profit attributable to shareholders remained flat in the first six months of this year, according to an Aug. 29 statement.
The company's earnings for the period were 413.9 million Chinese yuan, 0.2% up from 413.1 million yuan a year earlier, with earnings per share remaining unchanged at 3.9 fen.
Operating revenue in the first half rose by 15.1% to 46.9 billion yuan from 40.7 million yuan of the previous year.
The company said its earnings were hurt by the fluctuating copper prices during the period due to the ongoing trade tensions between China and the U.S.
Tongling Nonferrous produced 27,300 tonnes of copper in concentrate during the first half, a yearly increase of 4.2%. Gold production advanced by 10.5% from a year earlier to 5,138 kilograms and silver production was up 3.4% to 178.2 tonnes. Copper cathode output rose 8.8% to 707,600 tonnes and sulfuric acid production was up 8.2% to 1.4 million tonnes.
As of Aug. 29, US$1 was equivalent to 7.14 Chinese yuan.
