Ahold Delhaize's Etos acquires online health platform Solvo

Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV-owned pharmacy chain Etos has acquired online health platform Solvo Group, according to an Oct. 8 release.

The Solvo Group is based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and operates a number of health-related websites and a booking platform with about 5,000 active healthcare specialists. The Dutch retailer said that through the deal, it expects to establish a new drugstore concept that combines 24-hour physical store operations with online health information.

"The combination of our physical stores with the Solvo platforms is an important step in our goal of realizing the new drugstore, where information, advice and the range of products go hand in hand," Etos Brand President Saskia Egas Reparaz said.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
