EC veteran Rehn to head Bank of Finland

Finnish President Sauli Niinistö named Olli Rehn to succeed Erkki Liikanen as governor of the Bank of Finland, or Suomen Pankki.

Rehn, currently deputy governor at the central bank, will serve a seven-year term as governor starting July 12. He will also become a member of the ECB's Governing Council.

Previously, Rehn served as European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Euro from 2010 to 2014.
