Uber Technologies Inc. stopped autonomous-car testing in all cities after a self-driving car from Uber hit and killed a woman in Tempe, Ariz., Bloomberg News reported March 19.
The Uber vehicle was reportedly in an autonomous mode at the time of the crash. The company halted autonomous tests in San Francisco, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Toronto.
"Our hearts go out to the victim’s family," a company spokeswoman reportedly said in a statement. "We are fully cooperating with local authorities in their investigation of this incident."
A recent report indicated that Uber is in talks with Toyota Motor Corp. to sell its self-driving technology to the Japanese automaker.
