Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk in a series of tweets on May 19 unveiled a new, more advanced version of his Model 3 electric car, known as performance version, which will cost $78,000.
The performance version costs more than double the expected $35,000 for Model 3's basic version. It comes with all options except the Autopilot technology and has a range of 310 miles and a top speed of 155 miles per hour. It takes 3.5 seconds to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour. The car supports all-wheel drive.
The U.S. electric carmaker's CEO said the new Model 3 version will have two motors. One of the motors is optimized for power, while the other is to handle range.
