Marriott to bring W Hotels brand to Toronto

Marriott International Inc. is set to debut its W Hotels Worldwide brand in Toronto under an agreement with Larco Hospitality Inc.

The first hotel in the Canadian city that will launch under the brand will be the nine-story, 255-room property at 90 Bloor St. East in the Yorkville neighborhood. It is expected to open as W Toronto in the summer of 2020 after its $40 million renovation, which began in July.

W Toronto will offer multiple food and beverage venues, as well as a 3,300-square-foot fitness facility and 4,800 square feet of meeting space for social and corporate events, among other features.

Marriott operates seven luxury hotels in Canada, with more projects expected to be announced before the end of 2019.
