U.K.-based AstraZeneca PLC, one of the world's largest drugmakers, appointed Joseph Peter to its board as a nonexecutive director.
Peter was previously CFO of Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., serving in the position for nine years. Prior to that he worked at General Motors Co. as vice president and CFO of North American and international regions.
AstraZeneca Chairman Leif Johansson said Peter's career in the automotive industry, finance expertise and global experience, specifically in Japan and Asia, will allow him to contribute to the company's success.
