Damodar Industries fiscal Q1 profit climbs 16.9% YOY

4914637 said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to 2.77 Indian rupees per share, an increase of 16.9% from 2.37 rupees per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 30.9 million rupees, a gain of 16.9% from 26.4 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 2.1% from 1.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue decreased year over year to 1.47 billion rupees from 1.51 billion rupees, and total operating expenses declined from the prior-year period to 1.38 billion rupees from 1.41 billion rupees.

Reported net income grew 18.1% from the prior-year period to 32.6 million rupees, or 2.93 rupees per share, from 27.6 million rupees, or 2.48 rupees per share.
