Rift Valley Resources Ltd. is planning a 9,000-meter drill program at its Longonjo project in Angola that is designed to evaluate the potential for a high-grade neodymium-praseodymium deposit at the property.
The company said June 5 that the two-phase program will start in late August and will focus on testing a 2.4-square-kilometer area, about ten times larger than the extent of the project's resources, to enable an updated estimate.
Phase-one work is designed to determine the extent, grade and style of neodymium-praseodymium mineralization within the property's weathered zone and underlying fresh rock.
Phase two is expected to include infill drilling, subject to phase-one results. The program will also include sampling for mineralogical and metallurgical testing.
Rift Valley expects to receive initial results within six weeks of starting the drill campaign.
