Hitachi High-Technologies fiscal Q3 profit climbs 54.1% YOY

Hitachi High-Technologies Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2015, was ¥62.08 per share, a gain of 54.1% from ¥40.29 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥8.54 billion, a gain of 54.1% from ¥5.54 billion in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 5.9% from 3.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell year over year to ¥145.09 billion from ¥149.55 billion, and total operating expenses fell 6.0% from the prior-year period to ¥131.31 billion from ¥139.66 billion.

Reported net income rose 78.9% year over year to ¥10.36 billion, or ¥75.34 per share, from ¥5.79 billion, or ¥42.11 per share.

As of Feb. 10, US$1 was equivalent to ¥114.87.
