French trade deficit narrows in December 2017 as exports rise

Foreign trade deficit for France narrowed to €3.47 billion in December 2017 from a revised €5.62 billion deficit for the previous month, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies said.

The drop in the deficit reflected an increase in French exports to €41.63 billion in December 2017 from the revised €39.31 billion in November 2017. Imports ticked up to €45.10 billion during the last month of 2017 from the revised €44.93 billion in November 2017.
