CCA Industries fiscal Q3 profit climbs 85.1% YOY

CCA Industries Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Aug. 31 came to 5 cents per share, an increase of 84.0% from 2 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $322,750, an increase of 85.1% from $174,350 in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 6.4% from 2.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue fell 28.8% year over year to $5.0 million from $7.1 million, and total operating expenses fell 30.9% from the prior-year period to $4.4 million from $6.4 million.

Reported net income increased year over year to $352,400, or 5 cents per share, from $140,130, or 2 cents per share.
