Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended July 20 amounted to 37 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 44 cents per share.
EPS increased 24.2% year over year from 30 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $212.0 million, a gain of 24.4% from $170.5 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 2.3% from 1.9% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew year over year to $9.19 billion from $8.90 billion, and total operating expenses increased year over year to $8.82 billion from $8.63 billion.
Reported net income grew on an annual basis to $267.2 million, or 47 cents per share, from $255.4 million, or 45 cents per share.
