Westgold flags 2,500-ounce loss in Meekatharra gold output on plant repairs

Westgold Resources Ltd. expects an output shortfall of 2,500 ounces at its Meekatharra gold operations in Western Australia due to issues with the white metal bearings on the SAG mill.

The company said Oct. 8 that the Bluebird processing plant has been offline for five days and repairs are expected to take another 48 hours.

Westgold discovered the problem during routine processing plant maintenance and encountered additional issues while fitting a replacement bearing, it said.
