CP All profit misses consensus by 15.1% in Q4

CP ALL Public Company Ltd said its fourth-quarter normalized net income was 33 satang per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 38 satang per share.

EPS rose 53.8% year over year from 21 satang.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 2.93 billion baht, a gain of 53.8% from 1.91 billion baht in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 2.8% from 1.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 7.9% on an annual basis to 106.40 billion baht from 98.59 billion baht, and total operating expenses increased 7.0% year over year to 99.65 billion baht from 93.13 billion baht.

Reported net income rose 51.9% from the prior-year period to 3.88 billion baht, or 43 satang per share, from 2.55 billion baht, or 28 satang per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 1.16 baht per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 1.46 baht.

EPS rose 34.1% from 87 satang in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 10.45 billion baht, an increase of 34.1% from 7.79 billion baht in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue increased 9.4% from the prior-year period to 405.73 billion baht from 370.75 billion baht, and total operating expenses rose 8.6% year over year to 380.42 billion baht from 350.19 billion baht.

The company said reported net income increased 34.1% year over year to 13.68 billion baht, or 1.52 baht per share, in the full year, from 10.20 billion baht, or 1.14 baht per share.

As of Feb. 29, US$1 was equivalent to 35.64 baht.
