Marsh & McLennan files for notes offering

Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc. has filed a preliminary prospectus supplement related to the sale of an undisclosed amount of senior notes due 2026 and 2030.

The company intends to use net proceeds from the offering to help fund its acquisition of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group PLC, including payment and expenses, and to repay some of JLT's debts, as well as for general corporate purposes.

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, Citigroup Global Markets Ltd., Deutsche Bank AG, HSBC Bank PLC and Merrill Lynch International are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering. Barclays Bank PLC and JP Morgan Securities PLC are acting as underwriters.
