The White House is considering Derek Kan for one of two open seats on the Federal Reserve Board, Bloomberg News reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
Kan, who is a senior adviser to Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, served on Amtrak's board after he was nominated by former U.S. President Barack Obama.
According to one of the sources, Kan has had informal conversations with members of the National Economic Council. The White House has a "handful" of names that the administration is considering as advisers continue to gather resumes, according to one of the people familiar with the matter.
