Nokia COO stepping down; replacement named

Nokia Corp. COO Monika Maurer is stepping down to pursue new opportunities outside the company.

The Finnish tech giant named Joerg Erlemeier COO, effective immediately. Erlemeier will also join the Nokia group's leadership team.

Maurer will support Erlemeier during a transition period and will then leave Nokia.

Erlemeier held various leadership posts in Nokia and was most recently senior vice president of Nokia Transformation. Maurer, meanwhile, is credited, among other things, for her contributions in Nokia's integration with Alcatel-Lucent, which the former acquired for €15.6 billion in 2015.
