Kalium Lakes increases Beyondie measured, indicated resources by 150%

An updated estimate for Kalium Lakes Ltd.'s Beyondie sulfate of potash project in Western Australia increased measured and indicated resources by 150%.

The project hosts measured resources of 1.7 million tonnes at 11,488 milligrams per liter of sulfate of potash, indicated resources of 9.2 million tonnes at 12,459 mg/L of sulfate of potash and inferred resources of 7.8 million tonnes at 12,663 mg/L of sulfate of potash.

The company said Sept. 4 that its ongoing hydrogeological data collection program had resulted in the increase, with an updated reserves estimate anticipated by the end of the month.

Kalium Lakes, which hopes to increase the projected mine life of the Beyondie operation, also noted it had completed more than 72 weeks of total test pumping on the brine deposit, with more than 260 million liters of brine pumped from the aquifers.

An October 2017 pre-feasibility study on Beyondie outlined a 21-year operation producing 150,000 tonnes per year of sulfate of potash, with an option to develop the mine in phases and ramp up from 75,000 t/y.
