Shuei Yobiko Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to a loss of ¥1.12 per share, compared with a loss of ¥4.38 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥7.5 million, compared with a loss of ¥29.4 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to negative 0.3% from negative 1.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell year over year to ¥2.79 billion from ¥2.88 billion, and total operating expenses decreased from the prior-year period to ¥2.80 billion from ¥2.92 billion.
Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥2.82 billion, or a loss of ¥420.78 per share, compared to a loss of ¥1.02 billion, or a loss of ¥152.18 per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥116.46.
