Page Industries fiscal Q2 profit climbs 24.4% YOY

Page Industries Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to 51.94 Indian rupees per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 53.77 rupees per share.

EPS increased 24.4% year over year from 41.75 rupees.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 579.3 million rupees, an increase of 24.4% from 465.6 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 12.8% from 11.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 16.4% year over year to 4.54 billion rupees from 3.90 billion rupees, and total operating expenses increased 12.4% year over year to 3.58 billion rupees from 3.18 billion rupees.

Reported net income rose 20.8% from the prior-year period to 603.0 million rupees, or 54.06 rupees per share, from 499.0 million rupees, or 44.74 rupees per share.

As of Nov. 9, US$1 was equivalent to 66.41 Indian rupees.
