Agilent Technologies Inc. said its non-GAAP net income for the second fiscal quarter ended April 30 amounted to 65 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 64 cents per share.
EPS climbed 12.1% year over year from 58 cents. Non-GAAP net income totaled $212.0 million, a gain of 13.4% from $187.0 million in the year-ago period.
Net revenue increased 9.4% year over year to $1.21 billion from $1.10 billion.
GAAP net income rose 25.0% on an annual basis to $205.0 million, or 63 cents per share, from $164.0 million, or 50 cents per share.
Agilent expects fiscal third-quarter revenue in the range of $1.19 billion to $1.21 billion. Non-GAAP EPS for the quarter is expected to be between 61 cents and 63 cents. The S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate for the third quarter is 65 cents.
The company expects non-GAAP earnings per share in the range of $2.63 to $2.67 for the fiscal full year, a tightening from previous guidance in the range of $2.62 to $2.68.
For the fiscal full year, the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate is $2.70.
