LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE's Swiss luxury watch brand Hublot will launch its first smartwatch in 2018, Bloomberg News reported March 20, citing a phone interview with Jean-Claude Biver, president of LVMH's watch division.
The timepiece will be unveiled at the Baselworld trade fair on Wednesday, the newswire said. It will be on sale only in 2018 as it is linked to the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament.
Hublot's watch, priced at 5,000 Swiss francs, will reportedly be in stores in mid-April. The watchmaker is restricting production to only 2,018 pieces.
As of March 20, US$1 was equivalent to 0.95 Swiss francs.
