EQT appoints new CFO, disbands evolution committee for company overhaul

EQT Corp.'s board of directors named David Khani CFO, effective Jan. 3.

Interim CFO Kyle Derham will continue serving the corporation in an executive advisory role to help facilitate the transition before returning to his role as a partner of Rice Investment Group, according to a Jan. 3 news release. Before joining EQT, Khani served as the executive vice president and CFO of coal company Consol Energy Inc.

In addition, EQT disbanded its evolution committee after the company executed its 100-day reorganization plan, created when shareholders voted to elect new leadership at EQT, with Toby Rice appointed as president and CEO. Toby's brother Derek Rice transitioned out of his role as an evolution committee member, according to the news release.

EQT is the largest producer of natural gas in the U.S. with operations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.
