Foresight Group acquires 2 wind farms in UK

Funds managed by Foresight Group LLP acquired two operational wind farms, totaling 37.5 MW, from Glennmont Partners I UK Ltd. for an undisclosed amount.

The 25-MW Gruig wind farm is in Northern Ireland, while the 12.5-MW Todmorden wind farm is in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. Both have long-term power purchase agreements with investment-grade counterparties, according to an Oct. 3 news release.

"We continue to strengthen our diversified energy infrastructure portfolio throughout the UK, which is comprised of various renewable generation technologies and supporting infrastructure," said Helen Downie, senior investment manager at Foresight Group.

Foresight Group said it is monitoring a pipeline of domestic and wind opportunities for future deployment over the next six to 12 months.

Foresight, an infrastructure and private equity investment manager, hired Pinsent Masons as legal adviser, Wood Group as technical adviser and Deloitte as tax and financial adviser for this most recent transaction. The seller tapped KPMG as financial adviser, Everoze as technical adviser and Norton Rose Fulbright and A&L Goodbody as legal advisers.

Glennmont Partners is the trading name of Clean Energy Partners Llp and Glennmont Asset Management Ltd.
