Japan M2 money supply up 3.7% in May

Japan's M2 money supply increased 3.7% to ¥1,000.2 trillion in May on a seasonally adjusted and annual basis, following a revised 4.6% increase to ¥997.2 trillion in April, preliminary Bank of Japan figures showed.

On an unadjusted basis, the annualized M2 money stock rose 3.2% to ¥1,003.2 trillion compared with a revised ¥1,001.1 trillion in April, the bank said.

As of June 8, US$1 was equivalent to ¥109.47.
