Report: BNP Paribas makes changes in global markets biz

BNP Paribas SA made several changes in its global markets business, Thomson Reuters' IFR reported March 1.

The lender appointed Fred Zorzi, who will continue to be global head of bond and loan syndicate, global head of primary markets and moved Arne Groes to the position of global head of primary and credit markets. Groes was previously co-head of group of 10 rates, prime services and financing. Raphael Masgnaux will become sole head for the business, the newswire said.

The French bank named Martin Egan, previously co-head of global primary and credit markets, vice chairman of its global markets client board. He will report to Olivier Osty, executive head of global markets. His former co-head, Benjamin Jacquard, is departing to reportedly join hedge fund Chenavari Investment Managers, IFR said.

Pascal Fischer became head of global markets for Asia-Pacific. Working from Hong Kong, Fischer will report to Osty and to Eric Raynaud, BNP Paribas' CEO for Asia Pacific.

Kieron Smith, previously global head of derivatives execution and clearing, became deputy head of prime services and financing. John Gallo and Hubert de Lambilly were named head of sales and head of trading, respectively, for the global markets Americas business, reporting to Bob Hawley, head of the business.

Adrian Boehler and Francisco Oliveira will serve as co-heads of the foreign exchange, local markets and commodity derivatives business. Oliveira, who was previously head of global markets in Latin America, will relocate to London from New York. Nicolas Marque will move to Paris to continue heading equity derivatives globally.

Alexandre Benech was named global head of electronic trading, moving from his previous role as co-head of electronic market making and commerce.

Olivia Frieser, global head of European credit research and sector specialists, was promoted to global head of research. Frieser takes over from Amine Bel Hadj, who became global head of sustainability for global markets.

Stephanie Maarek took over as chief conduct & control officer for global markets, according to the report.
