Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. on Aug. 30 said it completed the acquisition of the 146-MW Oklahoma Cogeneration natural gas-fired, combined-cycle facility in Oklahoma City and subsequently changed its name to Frontier power plant.
The acquisition follows the utility's purchase of the 360-MW River Valley coal- and natural gas-fired plant in Le Flore County, Okla., in May. It was formerly known as the AES Shady Point power plant.
The transactions received approvals from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the Oklahoma Corporation Commission earlier in May. (FERC docket EC19-49) (Oklahoma Corporation Commission Cause No. PUD 201800159)
