Altus Strategies Plc said March 5 that it secured the Prikro gold exploration license in Cote d'Ivoire through the Aucrest Sarl unit of its Aeos Gold Ltd. subsidiary.
The license, granted to Aucrest, covers 369.5 square kilometers and has an initial four-year term, which can be renewed for two more terms of three years each. A subsequent exceptional renewal will allow the company to further extend the license for two more years, but each renewal will require a 50% reduction in the license area.
According to Altus, historical gold occurrences have been reported on the license and small-scale artisanal mining licenses are directly along strike of and adjacent to Prikro.
The company selected Prikro based on a geological assessment and is set to start the initial phase of reconnaissance exploration at the property, including initial mapping and sampling of high-priority targets defined from Altus' satellite imagery analysis and remote sensing work.
