SPK Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 came to ¥62.55 per share, a gain of 10.9% from ¥56.38 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥320.6 million, a gain of 9.1% from ¥293.8 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 3.2% from 3.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 5.7% on an annual basis to ¥10.17 billion from ¥9.63 billion, and total operating expenses grew 5.5% year over year to ¥9.68 billion from ¥9.17 billion.
Reported net income fell 52.4% on an annual basis to ¥315.0 million, or ¥61.45 per share, from ¥662.0 million, or ¥127.06 per share.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled ¥201.83 per share, an increase of 13.9% from ¥177.25 per share in the prior year.
Normalized net income was ¥1.04 billion, a gain of 12.5% from ¥925.6 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue grew 9.0% from the prior-year period to ¥38.33 billion from ¥35.18 billion, and total operating expenses increased 8.8% year over year to ¥36.74 billion from ¥33.77 billion.
The company said reported net income declined 20.0% on an annual basis to ¥1.04 billion, or ¥201.20 per share, in the full year, from ¥1.30 billion, or ¥248.37 per share.
