Kalium Lakes Ltd. said June 7 that it secured government approval for the mining leases for the Beyondie sulfate of potash project in Western Australia.
The grant of the mining leases allows the company to maintain its development schedule, with construction on-site scheduled for the third quarter, followed by brine extraction and evaporation in the fourth quarter.
In October 2017, a pre-feasibility study for the 150,000-tonne-per-annum Beyondie operation outlined a pretax net present value of A$388 million and an internal rate of return of 28.7%.
