Windstream to increase broadband speeds in 2019

Windstream Holdings Inc. said Jan. 14 it will double the availability of 100 Mbps kinetic internet service in the first quarter.

The company expects approximately 30% of the households in its local exchanges will qualify for 100 Mbps service by the end of March.

Windstream also said network upgrades completed in 2018 led to speeds of 50 Mbps or greater to approximately 40% of households and speeds of 25 Mbps or greater to over 60% of households, up from 33% and 55% at the start of the year, respectively.
