Constellation to sell 175 MW of solar power to 3 commercial customers

Constellation NewEnergy Inc. signed a 15-year agreement to supply three commercial customers with renewable energy.

The power will come from the 175-MW Skipjack Solar Center in Charles City County, Va., which is being built by sPower and is expected to come online in 2021.

Constellation will first purchase the power and renewable energy certificates from the project before selling them to Johns Hopkins University, McCormick & Co. Inc. and to apparel and home fashion retailer TJX Cos. Inc.

Constellation NewEnergy is part of Constellation, the competitive retail energy supply business of Exelon Corp. sPower, legally known as Sustainable Power Group LLC, is a joint venture of AES Corp. and Alberta Investment Management Corp.
