Regulators issue standard-offer service request for Central Maine Power

The Maine Public Utilities Commission is soliciting proposals for retail electricity standard-offer service for customers of Central Maine Power Co. through a competitive bid process for a one-year term.

Initial proposals may be submitted for one or more of Central Maine Power's standard-offer customer classes by Oct. 3. Suppliers may submit bids for one or more customer class including residential and commercial, medium commercial/industrial and large commercial/industrial, for a one-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2019.

Central Maine Power serves about 618,000 customers in central and southern Maine. Retail sales to these customers in 2017 were roughly 4.3 million MWh, of which 81% receive standard-offer service.
