Entergy Mississippi to build substation, implement transmission upgrades

The Mississippi Public Service Commission approved Entergy Mississippi LLC's proposal to build a substation at the Madison County Mega Site.

The $57 million project is expected to initially serve up to 80 MW and will have a capacity to provide up to 300 MW in the future. The Entergy Corp. subsidiary will also implement transmission upgrades on the site, according to a news release.

Construction of the substation is expected to begin in December 2020, with a target in-service date of December 2021.
