U.S. District Judge William Alsup of the Northern District of California rejected Uber Technologies Inc.'s request for a stay in a legal dispute with Alphabet Inc.'s Waymo self-driving car unit, TechCrunch.com reported June 7.
The judge imposed a limitation on new discovery requests, but urged Uber to get its employee Anthony Levandowski, who is accused of stealing trade secrets from competitor Waymo, to comply with discovery requests and to return any confidential material that he allegedly stole.
The case is set to go on trial in October.
