Integrated oil and gas company China Petroleum & Chemical Corp., or Sinopec, on Aug. 23 reported a Chinese Accounting Standard first half net profit attributable to owners of the company of 31.34 billion Chinese yuan, down 24.7% from 41.60 billion yuan a year ago.
The company's operating income for the half came in at 1.499 trillion yuan, increasing 15.3% from 1.300 trillion yuan during the same period in 2018.
Sinopec's exploration and production segment reported oil and gas production of 226.6 million barrels of oil equivalent in the first half, up slightly from the 224.6 million boe reported during the first half of 2018. Sinopec's refining segment posted a refinery throughput of 123.9 million tonnes during the first half, 2.7% higher than the 120.7 million tonnes seen a year ago.
The marketing and distribution segment's total sales volume of refined oil products came in at 126.9 million tonnes compared to the 115.8 million tonnes posted during the corresponding period in 2018.
As of Aug. 23, US$1 was equivalent to 7.09 Chinese yuan.
