McDermott to provide storage tanks for Saudi Arabian ammonia plant

McDermott International Inc. said Jan. 16 that it was granted a sizable fixed lump-sum contract from Daelim Saudi Arabia Co. Ltd. to provide engineering, procurement and construction of proprietary storage tanks for the Ma'aden ammonia plant at Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia.

The contract covers engineering, procurement and construction of four ammonia tanks and nine CB&I storage tanks. Work will be primarily done in Saudi Arabia and is expected to start immediately.

While the contract's exact value was not disclosed, McDermott defines a sizable contract to range from $1 million to $50 million.
