Son La Sugar Q1 profit climbs YOY

Son La Sugar JSC said its normalized net income for the first quarter came to 1,036.30 dong per share, an increase from 1,005.56 dong per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 8.46 billion dong, a gain from 8.21 billion dong in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 4.0% from 4.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 17.7% year over year to 207.01 billion dong from 175.88 billion dong, and total operating expenses rose 18.5% on an annual basis to 195.25 billion dong from 164.83 billion dong.

Reported net income increased 23.1% year over year to 12.12 billion dong, or 1,485.81 dong per share, from 9.85 billion dong, or 1,206.67 dong per share.

As of May 18, US$1 was equivalent to 21,792.50 dong.
