Engie Resources completes acquisition of Plymouth Rock Energy

Engie Resources Inc. said Dec. 19 that it completed its acquisition of Plymouth Rock Energy LLC from MVC Private Equity Fund LP, which is backed by asset manager MVC Capital Inc. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

"Plymouth's customers will join our portfolio of over 25,000 commercial and industrial power and natural gas customers, expanding our market share in metropolitan New York," Graham Leith, senior vice president and head of retail at Engie Resources, said in a news release.

Plymouth serves approximately 465,000 residential customer equivalents and operates in 39 utility markets in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Illinois and Massachusetts.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission cleared the transaction Dec. 14. (FERC docket EC19-19)

Engie Resources is a subsidiary of ENGIE North America Inc., which is owned by French energy company ENGIE SA.
