Amphenol Corp. said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to 63 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 72 cents per share.
EPS climbed 13.1% year over year from 56 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $198.7 million, a gain of 13.3% from $175.3 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 11.9% from 11.3% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 7.6% on an annual basis to $1.67 billion from $1.55 billion, and total operating expenses increased 6.3% on an annual basis to $1.33 billion from $1.25 billion.
Reported net income rose 23.4% from the prior-year period to $252.9 million, or 80 cents per share, from $205.0 million, or 65 cents per share.
