Audi's global sales decrease 8.5% YOY in February

German carmaker Audi AG said March 8 that it sold 119,800 cars worldwide in February, down 8.5% year over year.

The Volkswagen AG unit attributed the figure to the impact of the EU's new emissions testing standard.

The carmaker previously said it expects the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure, or WLTP, to continue affecting sales in 2019.

Deliveries in North America dropped 14.3% to 16,300 vehicles, while Europe sales fell 12.8% year over year to 54,800 automobiles.

Audi reported 1.8% growth in China, where the carmaker sold 40,084 vehicles in February.

In January, the carmaker sold 144,650 vehicles worldwide, representing a 3% year-over-year decrease.
