Goldplat Plc said March 29 that it completed the installation and commissioning of an elution plant at its gold recovery operation in Ghana.
The plant's development and a pledge to bring it into production by June 30 were among the requirements for the renewal of the company's license to purchase and sell gold in Ghana.
Goldplat said elutions are underway with the first gold poured earlier in March and a formal opening planned, subject to arrangements with Ghana's Ministry of Mines.
The company's Gold Recovery Ghana unit has contracts with major miners, including AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. and Gold Fields Ltd., according to its website.
