Enel Green Power completes 85-MW solar plant in Spain

Enel Green Power España has started operations at its 85-MW Totana solar photovoltaic project in Murcia, Spain.

Totana is one of the seven solar projects totaling 339 MW that the Endesa SA subsidiary won in the Spanish government's third renewable energy auction in July 2017. Totana represents a €59 million investment, according to a Sept. 16 news release.

Endesa plans to invest around €2 billion to install 8,400 MW of renewable capacity by 2021 and decarbonize its generation mix. The company currently manages over 6,638 MW of renewable capacity in Spain.

Enel Green Power is the global renewable energy business line of Italy's Enel SpA, the parent company of Endesa.
