Johnson Health Tech swings to profit in Q2

Johnson Health Tech Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to NT$76.6 million, compared with a loss of NT$317,130 in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.8% from negative 0.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 23.0% year over year to NT$4.28 billion from NT$3.48 billion, and total operating expenses rose 22.2% from the prior-year period to NT$4.27 billion from NT$3.50 billion.

Reported net income totaled NT$42.5 million, or 14 cents per share, compared to a loss of NT$161.1 million, or a loss of 53 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.

As of Aug. 12, US$1 was equivalent to NT$31.39.
