The United Auto Workers union agreed to temporarily extend its collective bargaining agreements with Ford Motor Co. and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, Reuters reported Sept. 13.
The extension reportedly gives more time for talks on new four-year labor contracts between the union and the companies.
The union did not extend the contract with General Motors Co., which is set to expire on Sept. 14, Reuters noted.
UAW did not immediately respond to S&P Global Market Intelligence's request for comment.
A regional director at the UAW is facing embezzlement charges as part of an ongoing federal investigation into alleged corrupt practices by union officials, a report by The Wall Street Journal on Sept. 12 said.
