Zhulian Corp. Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended May 31 amounted to 2 Malaysian sen per share, an increase of 25.5% from 2 sen per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 9.2 million ringgits, a gain of 25.5% from 7.3 million ringgits in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 16.6% from 11.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue declined 15.8% year over year to 55.3 million ringgits from 65.6 million ringgits, and total operating expenses declined 23.9% on an annual basis to 46.8 million ringgits from 61.5 million ringgits.
Reported net income increased 34.3% from the prior-year period to 11.1 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share, from 8.3 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share.
